DCI's Individual & Ensemble Competition (I&E) showcases some of the finest solo and small group performances of drum corps musicians and color guard members.

While World Class corps members will participate in their own I&E competition in San Antonio at the end of July, Open Class corps members will compete on Wednesday, Aug. 8, beginning at 2 p.m. ET at the Indiana Convention Center (100 S. Capitol Ave.).

New solo and ensemble vocal categories were added to the mix of traditional performance categories in 2011, allowing more corps members than ever before to showcase their abilities on the I&E stage.

Kicking off World Championship celebrations in downtown Indianapolis, this annual party will include a special recognition of the newly inducted DCI Hall of Fame Class of 2012, live music, raffles, auctions and other entertainment to keep the festivities running late into the night.

It all takes place on Wednesday, Aug. 8, beginning at 9:30 p.m. ET, at Historic Union Station (39 Jackson Place). All proceeds from the event will benefit DCI Hall of Fame leadership scholarships.

The second annual Celebrate Indy Arts! Parade will bring more than 30 of the world's finest marching music ensembles from around the world together with members of the local Indianapolis arts community in the most musical, creative and fun-filled parade to ever hit the streets of the Circle City.

Stepping off at 11 a.m. ET on Saturday, Aug. 11, the parade will wind through the streets of downtown Indianapolis, ending on the American Legion Mall (431 North Meridian St.). Concluding the event in the early afternoon will be a tribute to America, as more than 2,000 brass musicians assemble to play an en masse rendition of "Battle Hymn of the Republic."
