From the Drum Corps World archives.

The Madison Scouts lined up at the finale of the DCI World Championship on Aug. 17, 1974. Held at Ithaca, New York’s Schoelkopf Field—a 25,000-seat venue on the campus of Cornell University—1974 marked the first year since 1972 that the event was held away from Warhawk Stadium in Whitewater, Wis. After winning the Prelims competition the day before, the Scouts would fall behind the Santa Clara Vanguard at the '74 Finals, finishing in second place with a score of 88.50.
