Blue Stars
Blue Stars reported the passing of former color guard member Linda McCann who was a member of the corps in the late 1960s and ’70s. Services were held in Madison, Wis. on Thursday.
Bluecoats
The Bluecoats are seeking administrative interns to travel with the corps on its 2012 summer tour.
Boston Crusaders
Boston Crusaders announced a new partnership with Innovative Percussion, Inc. Corps members will perform exclusively with Innovative Percussion sticks and mallets in the drum line and front ensemble.
The Cadets
The Cadets will host a webinar for those interested in volunteering with the corps on Tuesday, Jan. 17, from 8 to 9 p.m. ET. Reserve your spot and find instructions for joining the meeting through the corps’ website.
Colts
About six inches of snow has fallen on the Dubuque area over the last day, but the Colts report that “everything is clear now and through the weekend” for the group’s January rehearsal camp.
Forte
Forte is in the running for a $5,000 gas card in the latest round of CITGO’s “Fueling Good” campaign. Your vote is needed to help the corps achieve its goal.
Gold
Mario Ramierez will join Gold’s staff in 2012 as the color guard caption head. “With all the excitement building about another promising season for Gold, we wanted a caption head committed to building a top level guard program. That’s what we got with Mario,” Program Coordinator Gary Backlund said.
Jersey Surf
Jersey Surf color guard member Jameela Christian is the latest recipient of the corps’ Jody Smith-Swatling Memorial Scholarship. The award provides financial assistance to members of the corps to help offset their cost of participation.
Madison Scouts
The Madison Scouts are still looking for brass and percussion players to join the corps for the 2012 season. The corps’ next rehearsals are Jan. 13-16 in Grapevine, Texas, and Feb. 17-19, in the Dallas area.
Pioneer

Spirit of Atlanta
Spirit of Atlanta is still taking applications for membership in its brass, percussion and color guard sections. Video auditions specifically for the color guard will be accepted between now and May.
Thunder
Thunder will host a free educational workshop for those interested in joining the corps on Saturday, Jan. 21, at Mt. Spokane High School in Mead, Wash.
Velvet Knights
Velvet Knights members can fundraise for their tour fees by joining the live studio audiences of a number of television shows including the “Price is Right,” “2 Broke Girls” and “Mike & Molly.”
