Create your own drum corps pumpkin masterpiece

Coming up on the end of October, Drum Corps International wants to help you get in the spirit of the holiday with a series of downloadable pumpkin carving templates to give your Halloween decorating a distinct drum corps look! Once you purchase the perfect pumpkin, you can complete your carving in these four easy steps (Kids, leave the sharp instruments and cutting to your parents!): 1. Choose and download your favorite template from below and print. Carefully cut out the gray areas of the template with scissors. 2. Cut a hole in the top or bottom of the pumpkin and scoop out the inside. Tape your chosen template to the face of pumpkin and trace the outlines of the stencil with a marker. 3. Remove the template and carefully cut through the outline with a knife. 4. Finally, wash the pumpkin down with antibacterial soap to keep it fresh and clean, and light it up from the inside when you display! Once you’re done don’t forget to take a picture of your creation and send a copy to DCI.org at [email protected] along with your name and address before Thursday, Oct. 30. The most imaginative and spectacular creations as chosen by Drum Corps International staff members will be announced on Halloween (Friday, Oct. 31) and will be posted on DCI.org for all to see.
