From an Esperanza press release:
Sean Zanganeh will lead Esperanza for his second year in 2006 as the drum major, and Honyin Chiu will be the assistant drum major.

This is Zanganeh’s second year as drum major and fourth year with Esperanza, having been a member of the baritone section, including the 2003 DCI Division II World Championship season. He is a 2004 graduate of Poway High School where he was a section leader for two years.
Zanganeh is currently studying business working towards a degree in business administration. He is a very determined individual and has always set an example for other corps members. “The enthusiasm and energy is giving us the best start I remember since 2003. I just can’t wait to get started because I expect 2006 to be our strongest season yet,” said Zanganeh.
Honyin Chiu is in her senior year at Rancho Bernardo High School, where she was the drum major for two years. Chiu plans to attend University California of San Diego and major in biology. She hopes to be a biology teacher some day.
Among other hobbies, Chiu is an avid reader who enjoys anything from Harry Potter to historical fiction. But you can normally find her hanging out with her close friends who mean the world to her. “I have already made so many new friends at Esperanza. It is such a close family and I am very excited for the 2006 season,” said Chiu. “Everyone works hard toward the same goal and I can tell this makes a huge difference in just the first few camps so far this season.”
