The Blue Devils organization was recently recognized as the October Concord, Calif. Chamber of Commerce Business of the Month.
Blue Devils B
The annual Blue Devils B awards banquet will be held on Sunday, Nov. 4 at the Concord Hilton Grand Ballroom in California. The cost to attend is $40 per person and reservations are required.
Blue Knights
Blue Knights will welcome a new visual staff to the corps in 2013. Todd Clevenger, who currently works with Ben Davis High School in Indianapolis, will lead the visual team.
Blue Saints
Blue Saints announced several additions to the corps’ instructional staff for the 2013 summer season.
Bluecoats
Bluecoats have used marching band, color guard equipment and other items leftover from their garage sale last weekend. View a complete list of available items on the corps’ website.
Boston Crusaders
Boston Crusaders are currently running a Fall apparel sale. Discounts have been taken on some of the corps’ most popular T-shirts from its 2012 summer tour.
The Cadets
The Cadets will host auditions in the state of Texas Dec. 7-9 in Dallas, San Antonio, Austin and Houston.
Carolina Crown
This week Carolina Crown announced plans for a West Coast tour at the start of their 2013 summer season.
Cascades
Cascades will audition drum majors at its November open house (date and location TBA). The corps says on its website: “We are looking for high quality individuals who will set a standard with attendance and participation, provide the drum corps with strong leadership on and off the field, have past conducting/drum major experience and possess a positive, infectious attitude and work ethic.”
The Cavaliers
The Cavaliers created several Facebook groups so that prospective members can interact with veteran corps members and ask questions prior to the corps’ educational clinic/audition camps.
City Sound
City Sound will host an educational Middle School Workshop on Sunday, Oct. 21 at California State University Dominguez Hills.
Colts
DCI Hall of Fame member Marc Sylvester will lead the Colts design team in 2013. “Marc’s experience and success at the highest levels of the marching arts will be tremendous for our program and most importantly our members,” Colts Director Vicki MacFarlane said.
Crossmen
Jason Buckingham will return to the Crossmen to lead the corps’ brass caption. “Jason has done a great job in developing the brass program at Crossmen for the past two years and we are excited to see what he does in 2013.” Program Coordinator Ed Devlin said.
Glassmen
Glassmen appointed David Stinson as the organization’s interim executive director. In addition to 20 some years of experience as a color guard instructor, Stinson has enjoyed a successful career in arts management, in the past having served as general manager of the Mannheim Steamroller Christmas and David Copperfield tours among others.
Jersey Surf
Jersey Surf will support two competitive marching music events this weekend in New Jersey, the 2012 Tournament of Bands New Jersey State Marching Band Championships in North Caldwell and the South Jersey “Chapter 1” Championships in Mullica Hill.
Oregon Crusaders
Several Oregon Crusaders members recently had the opportunity to perform with the Trisha Brown Dance Company.
Pacific Crest
Eighty people attended the Pacific Crest Annual Charity Golf Tournament on Friday, Oct. 12. Read more about the event on the corps’ website.
Pioneer
Pioneer is participating in the CITGO Fueling Good campaign, which will award $120,000 in gas prizes to worthy organizations. You can help the corps by voting on the Fueling Good website. The campaign runs through Nov. 28.
Raiders
Raiders will host its annual open house for prospective members Nov. 23-25 at the Bucks County Association For Retired in Bristol, Pa.
Santa Clara Vanguard
Santa Clara Vanguard appointed Danielle Russell-Kline as Summer Color Guard Coordinator/Lead Designer and Daniel Riley as Summer Color Guard Caption Manager.
Spartans
Spartans’ online auction fundraiser is now open and will run through Saturday, Nov. 10. Proceeds will be used to purchase new uniforms.
Troopers
Troopers added Paul Rennick to the corps’ staff to serve as percussion arranger and coordinator. “I have always enjoyed Paul’s work in all of his percussive venues. Having seen what he has done with other corps in the past we are excited to see what he has in store for our percussion section for the 2013 season,” Director Fred Morris said.
