The stage is set — Saturday, September 27, the 2025 European Drum Corps Championships (EDCC) return to FC Dordrecht Stadium for the fourth year in a row, bringing the very best of Europe’s marching arts to The Netherlands.
The event is hosted by World Drum Corps Hall of Fame member and former Jubal chairman Hans Kloppert.
“We’re excited to be back in my hometown of Dordrecht, Holland’s oldest city,” Kloppert said. “The FC Dordrecht stadium is a tried and trusted venue, which was the home of the Dutch national championships for many years, and will once again serve as European Championship venue.”
A total of 10 ensembles from the Netherlands, Germany and Ireland will take the field on Saturday with a preliminary round of competition during the afternoon and finals in the evening, followed by an awards ceremony featuring all participating groups. Additionally, Dordrecht’s own Jubal Orange Brass will provide two exhibition concert performances, adding a flair of hometown pride and musical heritage.
Groups will be organized across four competitive classes including Premier Class, Junior Class, Concert Class, and brand-new to this year’s event will be the integration of DCI’s popular SoundSport program, which is a move made to cater to the changing scene of marching music across Europe.
“Over recent years European drum corps has weathered membership declines,” Kloppert said. “The EDCC events have proven to be a great platform for corps and bands that treasure the corps style concept of show. We might have to tweak the championships format in the upcoming years even more. Adding SoundSport now is a great first step.”
