Drum Corps International is set to return to movie theaters on Thursday, August 6, bringing the DCI World Championship Prelims to drum corps fans across the nation.

Broadcast live from Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, this one-night cinema event will showcase the top-15 DCI corps in World Championship competition as they look to claim the DCI Founder’s Trophy.

2015 will mark the 12th annual live broadcast of the DCI Prelims. The first event in 2004 was shown in just 44 movie theaters and has since grown exponentially.

“Drum Corps International events are perennial favorites with Fathom Events audiences,” said Fathom Events CEO John Rubey. “Bringing these events live to the big screen offers fans across the country a special opportunity to participate in the event right from their hometown.”

In 2014, 49,168 drum corps fans headed to movie theaters. This year, scheduled to be shown in more than 600 cinemas through Fathom’s Digital Broadcast Network, that number is once again anticipated to grow.

Tickets for “Big, Loud, & Live 12” are now available at participating theater box offices and online at FathomEvents.com.

The event, which will kick off at 6:30 p.m. ET/3:30 p.m. PT on Thursday, August 6, will have an approximate run time of five hours and 15 minutes. The suggested ticket price is $18, but may vary from theater to theater.
