A key step on the road to the 2024 DCI Summer Tour took place December 4, as “Mega Monday” ushered in the first opportunity for fans to buy tickets to more than 20 of this coming summer’s events.

1. Midwest Premiere
June 26 | Rockford, MI

Not to be mistaken with the hometown of Phantom Regiment in Illinois, 2024 will mark the second year in a row that Rockford, Michigan’s Carlson-Munger Stadium at Rockford High School hosts the DCI Tour’s season-opening event.

2. DCI Central Indiana
June 28 | Muncie, IN

The DCI Central Indiana event, which takes place at Ball State University’s Scheumann Stadium in Muncie, Indiana, coincides with Music for All’s Bands of America Summer Symposium, an educational summer camp for hundreds of band students.

3. Drums on Parade
June 29 | Madison, WI

Drums on Parade can trace its roots in the Madison area back more than 70 years prior to the formation of Drum Corps International. The annual event once featured drum corps parading down the streets of Wisconsin’s capital city, but today brings corps to Breitenbach Stadium in Middleton, about 20 minutes northwest of the Madison Scouts’ hometown.

4. Cavalcade of Brass
June 30 | Lisle, IL

The 40th annual Cavalcade of Brass returns to Benedictine University, a Catholic institution that has campuses in Lisle, Illinois and Mesa, Arizona. The show will be the first of four DCI Tour events hosted in the state of Illinois in 2024, and will have the Boston Crusaders as part of the lineup for the first time since 2017.

5. Rotary Music Festival
July 3 | Cedarburg, WI

Presented by the Rotary Club of Cedarburg-Grafton, the Rotary Music Festival can trace its roots back to 1999 when Layton Olsen, an avid drum corps fan, organized fellow Rotary Club members to run this event to ultimately benefit the group’s charitable and civic causes.

6. Whitewater Classic
July 6 | Whitewater, WI

Perkins Stadium — previously known as Warhawk Stadium — on the campus of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, hosted the first two DCI World Championship events, in 1972 and 1973. The Anaheim Kingsmen and Santa Clara Vanguard took home those two titles, respectively. The Bluecoats have won two of the last three events in Whitewater.

7. DCI West
July 6 | Stanford, CA

The Stanford Cardinal's Stanford Stadium, a longtime host of the annual DCI West event, served as the location of Super Bowl XIX in 1985, which saw the San Francisco 49ers defeat the Miami Dolphins, 38-16.

8. River City Rhapsody
July 7 | La Crosse, WI

The 2024 edition of River City Rhapsody, hosted in Blue Stars’ hometown, will coincide with the corps’ 60th anniversary celebrations. Blue Stars are one of 13 founding corps of Drum Corps International.

9. DCI Tupelo
July 11 | Tupelo, MS

While many associate Elvis Presley with the opulent “Graceland” in Memphis, the site of his two-room childhood home is in Tupelo, Mississippi. After visiting the Elvis Presley Birthplace Museum, drum corps fans can transition from blues to blue turf, a unique feature of DCI Tupelo’s host venue, Golden Wave Stadium.

10. DCI Broken Arrow
July 16 | Broken Arrow, OK

DCI Broken Arrow, for the seventh-consecutive competitive season, will provide DCI fans with the first meeting of the previous season’s top-three scoring corps. At 2024’s event, 2023 medalists Blue Devils, Bluecoats and Carolina Crown, as well as fourth-place finisher Boston Crusaders, will go head-to-head as a group for the first time.

11. DCI Southern Mississippi
July 24 | Hattiesburg, MS

An annual event on the DCI Tour schedule since 2008, the Blue Devils have won the DCI Southern Mississippi event all but one year, when the Santa Clara Vanguard bested their California rival by a close margin of 0.45 points.

12. Soaring Sounds
July 30 | Centerville, OH

One of the longest-running annual events on the DCI Tour schedule, Centerville’s “Soaring Sounds” will be just shy of 45 years in 2024.

13. DCI Eastern Classic
August 2-3 | Allentown, PA

Allentown’s J. Birney Crum Stadium — which will once again host the two-night DCI Eastern Classic in 2024 — is the longest-running active host of a DCI Tour event. The first DCI Tour event in Allentown took place in 1976. The namesake of the stadium served as the head coach in football, basketball and baseball at Allentown High School for 25 years between 1925 and 1950.

14. DCI Eastern Illinois
August 3 | Mattoon, IL

Mattoon earned the title of the “Bagel Capital of the World” in the late 1980s, following the opening of the Lender’s Bagels factory near the town’s western limits. Mattoon is also home to “Bagelfest,” a three-day annual festival toward the end of July that includes a parade, carnival and concerts.

15. Innovations in Brass
August 5 | Canton, OH

Canton, located in the northeast corner of Ohio, is the home of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. 2024’s Innovations in Brass event — which features eight of 2023’s DCI World Championship finalists — will take place at Tom Benson Stadium, which resides next door to the Pro Football Hall of Fame and hosts the NFL’s annual preseason Hall of Fame Game.

16. DCI Open Class World Championships
August 5-6 | Marion, IN

In the three competitive seasons since the DCI Open Class World Championships moved to Indiana Wesleyan University’s Wildcat Stadium in 2019, the Spartans have taken home two Open Class gold medals. The other went to Vanguard Cadets, in 2022.

17. DCI World Championships
August 8-10 | Indianapolis, IN

The 2024 DCI World Championships, located in Indianapolis, will mark the 15th-consecutive time for a DCI Summer Tour to reach its conclusion in the Circle City. 2024’s edition, though, will be the first to feature the DCI All-Age Championships, set for the morning of Saturday, August 10.
