From a Raiders press release Beginning with the hustle and bustle of a busy day in New York City, the Raiders will take the audience on a journey across this great nation. "Awayday" by famed composer Adam Gorb, will set the scene for a day in the life of a New Yorker. With its brashness and high spirits, "Awayday" is a throwback to the days of the great Broadway musicals of Leonard Bernstein and George Gershwin.

Raiders at the 2005 Div. II & III World Championships
After leaving the excitement and non-stop action of the big city, the corps slows down the pace as they visit the vast openness of the Great Plains States. For this scene, the Raiders have chosen "Letter From Home" by legendary composer Pat Metheny. The flowing nature of his music lends itself to imagery of the winds blowing over the plains and the carefree attitudes of a warm summer day. Our trip will end on the West Coast in the land of sun and fun. We head into the final stretch with power, passion and pure excitement as we explore the fascinating themes of Don Ellis' "Strawberry Soup." This piece is sure to rev up the audience as the corps drives home this legendary tune. For more information about the 2005 DCI Division III World Champions, please visit www.raidersdbc.org.
