Coming up on T-minus approximately 200 days to the start of the 2008 Drum Corps International Summer Tour, corps program designers are already working out their plans for their respective corps' new productions, while prospective corps members are in practice rooms working up their skills for a chance to become a member of an elite DCI drum and bugle corps. Drum Corps International is also hard at work, finalizing details on tour schedules, travel plans and stadium contracts for the new season. This year, Drum Corps International will present 11 premier events across the country, in addition to the 2008 DCI World Championships to be hosted for the first time in Indianapolis, Ind. this August.

The 2007 DCI Major Event at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta was one of the best
attended of the season. DCI will return to Atlanta this summer on July 26.
Drum Corps International's Major Events are a collection of some of the premier stops on the annual DCI summer tour. These exciting events are often produced in larger, collegiate and professional sports stadium facilities on key weekends, to the delight of some of the biggest crowds of the season. Audiences at the 2007 major regional events exceeded 75,000 fans. "Drum corps fans should be excited to see many of their favorite locations back on the schedule for 2008, and a few new additions as well," said Missy Berg, DCI event operations manager. "Among this year's locations are three stadium facilities that were sites of past Drum Corps International World Championship events. The ability to have access to these world class facilities is exciting for us, for our fans and for the corps as well."
