COMING THIS SUMMER: Marching Music's Major League returns to the Big Screen, when the 2013 Drum Corps International Tour comes to cinemas nationwide for two exciting events. Drum Corps International is again set to partner with National Cinemedia's Fathom Events to bring the early-summer DCI Tour Premiere and the season-ending DCI World Championship Prelims to movie theaters from coast to coast. 2013 DCI Tour Premiere Monday, June 24 • 6:30 p.m. local time Now in its third year, the DCI Tour Premiere will feature an early season look at the Bluecoats, Boston Crusaders, Cadets, Cavaliers, Phantom Regiment and Spirit of Atlanta as their 2013 competitive performances are brought to the silver screen in stunning high definition video and surround sound. The event will be tape-delayed, recorded live on Saturday, June 22 at the Innovations in Brass DCI Tour event in Akron, Ohio and rebroadcast in movie theaters on Monday, June 24. "The Tour Premiere gives us a great springboard into the summer," DCI Executive Director Dan Acheson said. "With nearly 24,000 in attendance at last year's event, it's a fantastic way for students and drum corps fans to come together for a first look at these outstanding performers and to get excited about the summer season ahead." The Tour Premiere will begin at 6:30 p.m. local time on June 24. A complete list of movie theaters presenting the event will be released through DCI.org and FathomEvents.com during the week of May 6. DCI World Championship Prelims: Big, Loud & Live 10 Thursday, August 8 • 6:30 p.m. ET Celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2013, Drum Corps International's Big, Loud & Live will once again feature performances from the DCI World Championship Prelims. The event will be broadcast via satellite from Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis to cinemas nationwide. "Embarking on its 10th year, we're extremely proud that Big, Loud & Live continues to evolve in its pioneering role on National Cinemedia's Digital Broadcast Network," Acheson said. "We're very pleased to be able to share the evening with tens of thousands of fans across the country, many of whom have made this into an annual tradition when they're not able to travel to the World Championships in person. The only thing better is to be there to see and hear it live!"
