The kickoff of the Vancouver Olympics this past weekend marks the 30th anniversary of the XIII Winter Games in Lake Placid, N.Y. A series of events that included one of America's greatest sports victories, the U.S. Hockey Team's "Miracle on Ice" triumph over the Soviets, also marked one of Drum Corps International's proudest moments as the 27th Lancers Drum and Bugle Corps of Revere, Mass., headed north to perform on the snow and ice as part of the opening ceremonies.
