Lane Armey, percussion caption head for the Bluecoats, submitted this one: This morning (July 5), before the step-off of the Nashua, N.H., parade, six DCI drum lines got together in a park and warmed up as one gigantic drum line: the Bluecoats, Boston Crusaders, Cadets, Carolina Crown, Crossmen and Glassmen. Although I (and the others) have witnessed drum lines warming up together in the past, I can never remember this many getting together to have some fun and meet some new people. The combined drum line consisted of around 52 snares, 28 quads, 30 basses and 12 cymbals. The combined line played through legato 8s, an accent tap exercise, triplet rolls as well as a flam rudiment "shopping spree." Then each of the six drum lines played through its cadence for the other drum lines as a sort of "Show 'n tell." It was quite an experience both for the players as well as those fortunate enough to witness it!" Thanks Lane! We're running low on Forzato pics!
