This picture was taken after the Magic's performance during the 2006 season in Allentown, Pa. on our annual DCI trip. Myself, Shawn and John all marched together in high school and later I marched as a contra horn player (1995-2000) with the Rochester Patriots from Rochester, N.Y. Shawn not only marched with me in high school, but also with the Patriots during my age-out year. He spent the last two years marching as the fourth bass drummer for the Magic.
The other two gentlemen in the picture, Ed and Mike, are actually our old middle school and high school band directors. I am now a band director in New York, and I also teach marching band at my old high school along with Shawn, John, Mike and Ed.
