With potentially record-breaking heat on the horizon in the coming week, Drum Corps International will proactively delay the start time of a number of upcoming 2022 DCI Tour events in an effort to avoid extreme temperatures and safeguard its performers, stadium staff, adjudicators and spectators alike.

In addition to weather considerations, event staff members are also navigating local sound ordinances and the unique safety requirements facing each participating ensemble relative to their respective compliance with USDOT driver hour requirements.

“In collaboration with our dedicated weather and event safety specialists as well as the participating ensembles, we are working to make sure all of our performing drum corps are taking the necessary additional precautions during rehearsals to accommodate and prepare for these potentially extreme conditions,” DCI CEO Dan Acheson said.
