This will be the third year Artistry in Motion (held on Friday, June 20 at 7:30 p.m.), the home show of the Capital Regiment, has called Columbus, Ohio's Crew Stadium (America's first major league stadium built specifically for soccer) its home.

Columbus' Crew Stadium
In 2000 Crew Stadium, was named "2000's Foremost Sports Facility of the Year" by the International Sport Summit, and its title could apply to the drum corps idiom as well. "Crew Stadium is a great facility for a drum corps competition and has been well received by drum corps fans," Capital Regiment director Rick Bays said. "The folks in the Columbus Crew organization are always very cooperative and helpful. We are fortunate to have access to such a world-class facility." This year marks the first time Artistry in Motion has been held on Friday evening. The combination of a great lineup, the Friday date, and word spreading about Crew Stadium should make for great crowd, according to Capital Regiment officials. Last year the Glassmen won the contest by just two-tenths of a point over Phantom Regiment. This year marks the return of both the Glassmen and Phantom Regiment, along with the Madison Scouts, Colts, Southwind, Americanos, Marion Glory Cadets, and of course Capital Regiment. Because of Phantom's tour West this summer, this will be the last time Phantom Regiment meets up with Midwest rivals Glassmen and Madison Scouts until San Antonio some four weeks later. Artistry in Motion is one of two times that hometown favorite Capital Regiment will be in Columbus this summer. The corps will perform at several parades on July 3 and 4 including the "Red, White, and Boom! Parade" which takes place in downtown Columbus. "Red, White, and Boom!" annually draws more than 500,000 people to downtown Columbus. Regiment director Bays believes that "It is important to be visible and supportive of local events, even if it means quite a detour from the summer's tour." Tickets for Artistry in Motion may be purchased in advance in person at the Crew Stadium ticket office or by calling 614.447.4169. Tickets may also be purchased through Ticketmaster. Tickets are $12 in advance and $14 the day of the contest. More information
