I marched my drum corps rookie year in 1968 as a member of the Wyandotte Royal Lancers. Forty years later, my son marched his rookie season with the Glassmen in 2008. The Royal Lancers competed against the Glassmen when they were the Maumee Suns, the Glass City Optimists and then finally the Glassmen in 1971.
