From a Carolina Crown press release: Bob Beasley, a second-year government and business double major student at the College of William and Mary, will be on the podium for Carolina Crown in 2005.

Bob Beasley
Having begun his career in the horn line, this is Beasley's third year with Carolina Crown and second year serving as drum major.

He is originally from Danville, Va., where he graduated from George Washington High School. At GWHS, Bob was a member of Reginald Purvis' marching band for four years, serving two years as their drum major. At William and Mary, Beasley is a brother of Lambda Chi Alpha, where he serves on the Greek life judicial panel and is also a member of the college's judicial council. He plans to attend law school. "Bob is an exceptional young man and a great member," remarked Crown director Kevin Smith. "He has established himself as a respected leader within the corps, and has the potential to set a new standard of excellence among a tradition of outstanding drum majors over the years at Carolina Crown."

"I am very excited about returning as drum major for Carolina Crown this summer," Beasley added. "The 2005 program, "Angelus," is going to be a very entertaining show and we have assembled a great group of members to perform it. I look forward to the opportunity to apply the lessons I learned on and off the podium last year to help make the 2005 Carolina Crown another successful year."
