Del Benson, who marched baritone with Capital Regiment this summer, sent in this one. “This is a photo of my 21st birthday. It is the last day of the 2004 Capital Regiment pre-tour, and since it was the last day, we did a full-uniform run of the show. It’s not your typical 21st birthday – wakeup at 7 a.m., swarms of mosquitos, and a sweaty run-through in full uniform. I’m not complaining, though, because that night marked the end of the hardest two weeks of my life, and the beginning of the real journey — tour! If I could go back, I wouldn’t spend my 21st any other way.
