This coming weekend, Oct. 22 and Oct. 23, Spirit from Jacksonville State University will be holding remote auditions at the Bands of America Super Regional in Atlanta, Ga., at the Georgia Dome. Potential auditionees should seek out the JSU booth and look for Jimmy Steele, Spirit's brass caption head, who will than escort auditionees to an audition room. You can download an application HERE. The JSU Marching Southerners will be performing their 2004 production in exhibition at 3:45 p.m. after the prelims competition. Meanwhile, the Blue Devils will be holding free auditions at BOA Grand Nationals on Friday, Nov. 5 from 8 to 10 p.m. at the RCA Dome. You may need to pay a fee to enter the stadium if you are not performing or attending the show. Please check in at the Blue Devil Booth (#37) in the RCA Dome across from the DCI Village for specific details. You'll need to fill out the audition application and then email The Blue Devils before auditioning. Read more. At this time the Blue Devils' audition will only be for brass players, and they will have representatives present from the brass staff to conduct the audition. The Santa Clara Vanguard will also be pre-auditioning brass players at BOA Grand Nationals in Indianapolis. These auditions will take place on Friday Nov. 5, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday, Nov. 6, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. There will be no registration fee collected by SCV, but you may need to pay a fee to enter the stadium if you are not performing or attending the show. This pre-audition will take place at the RCA Dome Convention Center. The exact room number will be posted as soon at is confirmed by BOA.
