From a Blue Knights press release: Joni Viertel, brass caption head for the Blue Knights, reported on a recent weekend camp. "The entire drum corps had a very productive weekend. The brass section got a lot of detailing work done on the first two numbers of the program, and we spent most of Saturday learning drill for the opener. The corps gave a special performance on Sunday in front of a very large Denver crowd, which was extremely rewarding considering the many hours they spent perfecting the music over the course of the camp weekend. Everything is certainly coming together nicely, and I am pleased with the direction we are heading in," Viertel said.

The Blue Knights percussion section enjoyed similar success. "The drum corps camp went very well," said Pat Amann, percussion caption head. "The corps learned 21 pages of drill as well as continued to work on the musical production. The corps will be learning more drill in April, and the show music will be complete. Come out and see us! It was great to see such a large crowd at the Blue Knights Family Day performances. I want to wish everyone involved in WGI the best of luck. Especially the Blue Knights world percussion ensemble, the Blue Knights open percussion ensemble, and Oracle!" Amann said.
