From a Blue Knights press release: The Blue Knights have been busy since coming off the road from their first tour. Upon their arrival early Tuesday morning, they have performed in two parades and made significant strides in upgrading their 2003 competitive program. Shortly after arriving in Denver on Tuesday, the corps marched in the Lions International Convention Parade and were back on the field rehearsing Wednesday. On the 4th of July, the corps was in Greeley for the Greeley Stampede Parade.

"These performances were important for us for promotional reasons," said Director Mark Arnold. "With our two Drums Along the Rockies shows coming up this weekend we needed to be seen locally. In addition to the TV coverage we got it's estimated that the crowds at these events were well over 200,000 people! It's difficult balancing our promotional needs with our competitive goals. Our kids have responded amazingly well in keeping their focus on our competitive program. When we left California, I was extremely pleased with our performances and the input we received from both the judges and the fans in the stands. Although we have been out of competition for the past week, we have made some great changes to our program and we are looking forward to rolling them out on our little tour up to Boise, Ogden and Greeley before we step into INVESCO Field for our home show Saturday. I'm sure our fans will find this to be the best Blue Knights EVER! We have a very entertaining show ... quintessential Blue Knights!"
