From a Blue Knights press release: The Blue Knights winter brass ensemble will perform at the
Colorado Rockies opening day baseball game on Monday, April 4, 2005. The ensemble will be a part of the opening ceremony before the game. "It's a great honor to be asked by the Rockies organization to do this," said Blue Knights executive director Mark Arnold. "The winter brass has been a big surprise to all that have seen them! They look and sound great and truly are very entertaining. We are talking with the Rockies in regards to future opportunities and I'm excited about the possibilities!" The winter brass ensemble has been performing locally at percussion and color guard shows and they are looking forward to performing at the Rocky Mountain percussion association championships on April 9. "I couldn't be happier with their performances and how far the program has come this year!" said ensemble director Abe Eng. "We have already been getting calls from area band directors in regards to starting their own school ensembles! It really is an exciting time!"
