Blue Stars, Cavaliers Anniversary Corps to perform at Indiana State Fair: Get your tickets now!

It seems like a match made in heaven. Two great representatives of American culture--drum corps and the Indiana State Fair (ISF)--meeting up for the first time on Aug. 6. The Blue Stars and the Cavaliers Anniversary Corps will make special appearances at the ISF's Band Day Competition. Just north of Indianapolis, the fairgrounds will be host to a whole 12 days of events, but there's just one chance to see the drum corps before they head to the World Championships in Bloomington! You'll have to be there bright and early to see the Blue Stars kick off the event, a full day high school band competition in a prelims-finals format that begins at 8 a.m. The Hoosier State's finest bands will find out if they qualify for the evening show when awards are announced at 4:40 p.m., but prior to that the Cavaliers Anniversary Corps will take the field and wow the crowd with selections from their 60-year history. There will be plenty of variety, from these two drum corps exhibitions to each of the four to six minute performances by 50 marching bands. There's plenty more to do at the state fair, from 4-H interactive learning areas to livestock exhibitions, to a covered bridge built just for this event! Drum Corps International will have a booth set up in the Hoosier Lottery Grandstand Side Lot, so be sure to stop by! Tickets for the prelims event are $6 for adults and $2 for children, and the finals show is priced at $10 for adults and $4 for children.
