From a Blue Stars press release: For the 2005 season the Blue Stars will be adding a four- to five-member cymbal line and expanding their snare line. "We've got a remarkable number of available positions in the battery," said recruiting coordinator Dan Ritacco. "Last year we had 25 guys audition for one available snare spot. This year, after we expand the line and account for age-outs, injuries and non-returnees, we're going to have seven snare positions open." Seven is the largest number of available snare positions in the history of the corps. "I think it's exciting," said corps director Bill Sucha. "It's great to be in a position where we can offer so many more percussionists a shot at marching this summer."
