From a Bluecoats' press release: The Bluecoats' 2003 program is entitled "Capture and Escape." This year's production will explore the images and emotions connected with those two intertwined concepts. The Bluecoats design team of Doug Thrower (brass), Dan Delong (percussion), Mitch Rogers (drill design), Jon Kreamer (color guard), Jim Buckley (choreography) and Tom Rarick (front ensemble) has created a show that will capture the essence of Bluecoats productions over the past few years. Again, they will continue to utilize familiar-sounding melodies, infectious rhythms and exquisite full corps choreography to present this year's show. The Bluecoats will hold their annual drill camp on April 18-20 at an indoor drill facility in Perry, Ohio (near Cleveland). All 135 members plus a number of alternates are required to attend this two-day camp to assemble the first two-thirds of "Capture and Escape." After auditioning more than 700 potential members and having the largest class of returning members in its history, the Bluecoats are well on their way to making this season it's most memorable to date!
