As part of a discussion session last night, the DCI board of directors debated the possibility of holding World Championships in California sometime in the near future. "The Tour of Champions will be a good opportunity to gauge the possibilty of holding World Championships in California," said David Gibbs, director of the Blue Devils, noting that sponsors, supporters, workers and volunteers are readily available to aid in the staging of this possibility, and that many California fans are unfamiliar with the intensity of August drum corps shows. Jeff Fiedler, director of the Cavaliers, also encouraged corps to visit California as part of future tours. "Non-California corps should consider going to California in 2005 and 2006," Fiedler said.
