From a Capital Regiment press release:

After considerable discussion among its board of trustees over the course of the past three months, the Capital Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps regrets to announce that it will not be participating in the 2010 Drum Corps International Tour.

In the face of a challenging economy affecting many businesses, the Capital Regiment has been unable to offset a considerable decline in its primary source of revenue to a level sufficient for delivering a high-quality experience to the members of its organization for the 2010 season. The difficult decision to return to "inactive status" is being made by the board at this time to enable all of those desiring to participate in a corps next summer with the opportunity to seek membership in another organization.

The Capital Regiment would like to express its heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has expressed an interest in being a part of our organization in the coming year, and to those who chose the corps as the "destination" from which to experience all of the great things that the drum and bugle corps activity has to offer. If we can be of any assistance in your search for membership in another organization, please feel free to contact the office.

Please accept our best wishes to everyone for a tremendously successful 2010 season.
