From a Capital Sound press release: Sarah Teschke, corps director of Capital Sound Drum & Bugle Corps of Madison, Wis., announced this week that she will not return as director for the 2007 season. Teschke, Capital Sound director from 2004 through 2006, plans to pursue graduate studies. Teschke led Capital Sound to an eighth-place finish at DCI Division III Finals in Madison. "I am so proud of the marching members for never giving up and always striving to become better," Teschke said. "I have really treasured the time I have spent with everyone involved in Capital Sound, but at this time, I must pursue some personal challenges. I will be returning to graduate school in September to further my educational goals. I have complete confidence in the board of directors and staff that they will continue the traditions that have made Capital Sound so strong." "We hope that Sarah will continue to work with the corps, and we wish her the best of luck in her future endeavors," said Allan Marty, Capital Sound board president. In a move expected to strengthen the corps, Capital Sound's board of directors has decided to divide the responsibilities of the director's position. A new corps director will be responsible for the musical program: securing musical staff, recruiting new marching members, leading the design team to select and present the musical program for the corps and traveling with the corps. A second position of business director will be responsible for logistical arrangements: securing practice facilities, the food program, transportation and securing support staff. The board is currently recruiting for these two positions and anyone interested should contact board president Allan Marty at 608.257.5849 or uncleal@chorus.net, or vice-president Tim McCann at 608.712.6922 or tmccann@capsound.org.
