From a Carolina Crown press release: The ranks of the 2004 Carolina Crown swelled to more than 350 prospective members over the weekend, as more than 60 "walk-ins" at the corps' first camp in South Carolina were added to the nearly 300 students that had pre-registered through last Friday. This is the largest attendance Carolina Crown has had in its 15-year history. In addition to this new record, individual caption attendance records were set in both the color guard and brass captions as well. In fact, for the first time in the corps' history the brass caption lead the percussion and guard captions with a total of over 160 students. Per Carolina Crown's policy, all students are being asked back to a second camp, and we are still accepting additional students to audition for what is shaping up to be the corps' best season yet. Other audition dates are Saturday, Dec. 6 (a brass only audition event at Avon H.S. in Avon, Ind.), and from Dec. 12-14 (a percussion and brass only full weekend camp at Fort Mill H.S. in Ft. Mill, S.C). The color guard will return on April 30 (through May 2) at Ft. Mill H.S. So, if you have not sent in your registration information yet we recommend you do so immediately! You can find the membership application in the Membership section of the Carolina Crown Web site. There is also a lot of pertinent information you will need, as well as instructions on how to register. Once we receive your registration you will be receiving additional information, exercises, etc. that are only being given to registered students. On-site registrations will also be accepted for "walk-ins" at each of the auditions events.
