Somewhere, Queen's late, lamented lead singer, Freddie Mercury, is smiling. Carolina Crown's 2004 program will employ that group's classic rock staple, "Bohemian Rhapsody" (popularized in the mid-1990s by the "Wayne's World" films), along with Puccini's "La Boheme." The show's program will be entitled "Bohemia." Carolina Crown will open their audition season this-coming weekend with a remote audition event in the Dallas area. The complete list of upcoming audition camps is as follows: November 15 (Saturday, brass only) -- A new, one-day remote audition event to be held from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm at Berkner HS, Richardson, TX. November 21-23 (brass and guard only) -- Full weekend camp at Rock Hill H.S., Rock Hill, SC December 6 (Saturday, brass only)-- The second of two remote audition events being held this year, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Avon H.S., Avon, Ind. December 12-14 (brass and percussion only) -- Full weekend camp at Fort Mill H.S., Fort Mill, S.C. (annual awards banquet on Saturday, Dec. 13) Interested students can find the membership application in the membership section of the Carolina Crown Web site. There is also a lot of pertinent information you will need, as well as instructions on how to register. Once your registration is received you will be sent additional information, exercises, etc. that are only being given to registered students.
