On Christmas Day, DCI members will join the ranks of the Walt Disney World ® Christmas Day Parade (aired worldwide on the ABC television network) as part of a special DCI Honor Corps! Organized as a group of the most talented and dedicated members from DCI Division I, II & III, the members were selected from the top 10 percent of their corps' ranks as nominated by their respective corps directors. Named during the 2005 World Championships in New England, the DCI Honor Corps will be led down Main Street USA at the Walt Disney World Resort by three drum majors representing each DCI division. Selected for their excellence in leadership, this year's DCI Honor Corps drum majors are Matt Rummel of the Magic, Matt Souther of Memphis Sound and Robert Chen of Taipei Yuehfu. The group will be under the direction of Sal Salas, the 2005 DCI Division I director of the year and executive director of the Madison Scouts. Salas is excited by the prospect of marching in the Walt Disney World Christmas Day Parade. "I'm really excited about being the honorary director for the Disney parade. I thin it's going to be exciting. I think that the honor corps will definitely represent DCI in a positive manner, and that people will get to see how exciting DCI is. And I'm excited that it will be at Walt Disney World in Orlando!" Salas said. Souther of Memphis Sound is anticipating the camaraderie the DCI Honor Corps will create. "I'm excited to go to Disney World and meet with a bunch of people from other corps, to see what they're like and how they do things. I'm also looking forward to DCI getting some publicity on national TV," Souther said.
