With the help of a task force of designers, instructors and adjudicators, one of the initiatives Drum Corps International Artistic Director Michael Cesario is heading up, is a detailed evaluation of DCI's current judging system. "We're taking a look at what we can do to freshen up the judging to make it understandable," Cesario says. "Looking at the possibility of some new rules and new changes so that it's clear to everyone including the audience as to why who won, won." Field Pass host Dan Potter caught up with Cesario in Indianapolis last weekend at the DCI Annual Meeting, along with DCI Judge Andy Cook and Carolina Crown Brass Caption Supervisor Matt Harloff, to learn more about the progress the new Rules and Systems Task Force is making, and what fans can expect to see in the future.
