Brad Faidley of Dallas (who's a Sky Ryders and SCV vet) submitted this one. "While volunteering for the Santa Clara Vanguard support staff this summer, I took this picture of an awesome tattoo on the arm of a member of the SCV tuba section. I took this shot on July 23 while they were working hard in the blazing sun in San Antonio.

"I didn't get the guy's name but I think it's probably the coolest tattoo I've ever seen.

"Later that afternoon, I had the extreme privilege of hearing the horn line play "Music of the Night" (the closer from our '89 show) in the Alamodome parking lot during their warmup for prelims. I was there to make sure they got water before going into the stadium because the parking lot felt like it was 150 degrees. I had no idea they still played that piece of music. Words can't express how amazing that experience was. I didn't stop crying until I got to my seat in the upper level of the dome. FYI, the corps rocked the Alamodome that night!

"Congratulations to the SCV members for another season busting with character. You were truly an inspiration. I'll never forget the 2005 Santa Clara Vanguard and I'll never stop being proud of you all." Thanks Brad!
