7th Regiment will bring back Michael Blancaflor for his third year as percussion caption head and have appointed Jeff Bickford as battery percussion coordinator and arranger.

Be a Blue Devil for a day during Blue Devils B’s educational brass percussion and color guard workshop on Saturday, Dec. 10 in Concord, Calif.

Blue Saints have started their 2012 recruiting campaign. This year the corps is celebrating 60 years.

Boston Crusaders

Boston Crusaders

Boston Crusaders have settled on a working title of “The Titans” for its 2012 production. Details are still being finalized, but works by Respighi, Preisner and Mahler have been selected for the program.

The Cadets

The Cadets

The Cadets presented the Cadets Award of Excellence to marching bands at six state championships hosted by the U.S. Scholastic Band Association last week. The award is presented to “the band that best reflects the Cadets’ tradition of overall effect, creativity and pursuit of excellence.”

The Cavaliers

You can find the Cavaliers Friday and Saturday at the Bands of America Grand National Championships in Indianapolis. Pick up a T-shirt or talk to current and former members who will be on hand to talk about the corps’ upcoming auditions.

Colts recently announced the staff members who will head up the corps’ percussion section in 2012. “The staff is really excited about the continuity of approach that has developed after coming together in 2011,” said David Nelson, caption head. “A solid core group from last season, along with the infusion of some great new talent, is going to provide the percussion section a sturdy foundation on which to build in 2012 and beyond.”

The Madison Scouts recently named three new members to its board of directors.

In conjunction with a re-design of its website, Oregon Crusaders announced the title of its 2012 production, “Dreaming in Color.” Music selections will be sourced from the works of Eric Whitacre, Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross.

Thanks to the help of drum corps fans across the country, the Racine Scouts are recipients of $5,000 worth of gas through CITGO’s Fueling Good program. Help the corps celebrate its accomplishment on Saturday, Nov. 12 during its 85th anniversary kickoff party at TBG’s Bar & Grill in Racine, Wis.
