The Academy The Academy will be unveiling a new uniform design for the 2011 season, and the corps is currently collecting contributions from supporters to help offset the cost. The campaign will come to an end on April 30 when the new design is revealed to current corps members and donors.

Blue Stars Mike Halron joins the Blue Stars as the corps' 2011 summer tour director. "My expectations for this year's tour are that we will have an excellent experience and the outcome will reflect the hard work and dedication of the members, staff, administration and volunteers," said Halron. Boston Crusaders The Boston Crusaders recap their recent February rehearsal camp in Bradenton, Fla. in a post on the corps' website. Of note for corps members was the delivery of 80 brand new brass instruments. "The quality of the instruments and the service we've already seen from our new friends at KHS America is truly outstanding," said Executive Director Tom Spataro.

The Cadets The Cadets will pay tribute to their classic maroon and gold uniform design this summer during the Aug. 7 Tournament of Champions series event at New Meadowlands Stadium in New Jersey. "The Cadets have maintained the look of prestige and dignity that helps define who they are, and how they appear on the field of competition today. It is only appropriate that in 2011 the Cadets, and all Cadets, pay homage to a part of what makes all … the maroon platoon," said Director George Hopkins.

Cascades The Cascades announced that Bennie Hodder will serve as lead drum major for the 2011 season assisted by conductor Caitlin Heber. "I plan to be a strong and firm leader who can help keep the corps running at full speed all summer," said Hodder. "With a deep love for Cascades, I pray every day that I can be used to make the Cascades better. I am just one person, and can not change the world, but, I can try."

Crossmen The Crossmen Box Office is now open, and the corps has reserved exclusive blocks of seats at many popular 2011 DCI Tour events just for Crossmen fans. Also, don't miss the Crossmen Alumni Association's Annual Beef 'n Beer Scholarship Event on Saturday, May 14 in Norwood, Pa. $25 admission gets you food, entertainment and the company of Crossmen supporters from across the country.

Glassmen The Glassmen will host their "Run for the Corps" fundraiser on June 11 in Morenci, Mich. All 2011 Glassmen corps members will be participating, and you can join them in the 5K race and 1K fun run/walk.

Phantom Regiment Phantom Regiment recently announced the musical selections that will be included as part of the corps' 2011 "Juliet" production. Comprising the repertoire will be works from Verdi, Mozart, Prokofiev and Wagner, among others.

Spirit of Atlanta Spirit of Atlanta welcomes Bob Smith as a visual consultant for the 2011 season. "I have known Bob since 1987, where we were both on the visual staff at Phantom Regiment for several years," said Director of Education and Programming Mark Waymire. "Bob is a very intuitive and detailed teacher. Much of the visual success of every corps where Bob has instructed is due to his ability to know what excellence looks like and how to get performers to achieve such."

Teal Sound Teal Sound Director Randy Blackburn is resting comfortably after being admitted to the hospital this week with chest pain. "The doctors expect Randy to make a full and speedy recovery and he will be home in just a few short days and can resume his duties," Board President James Newman said in a post on the corps' website.

Velvet Knights The Velvet Knights continue to put together their 2011 production "Play Ball!" and you can read more about it in a recap of the group's February rehearsal camp posted online. The corps also recently announced its 2011 color guard staff that will be led by caption head Randy Badillo. Auditions for the color guard section are coming up on April 23.
