The Cavaliers The Cavaliers may not have been able to control the lightning that canceled the Cavalcade of Brass event July 11, but they can give fans another performance: On Monday, Aug. 9, the Cavaliers present a free performance of "Mad World" at North Central College in Naperville, Ill. starting at 8 p.m.

Legends The Legends organization is sponsoring the upcoming Open Class event, Silk City Rhythms, Saturday, Aug. 7. It starts at 7 p.m. with a lineup of nine Open Class corps in one of the last events before the DCI World Championships.
Les Stentors On Aug. 2, Les Stentors broke the 70-point mark for the first time since 2005. The corps is doing well on its last week of the summer tour, but currently needs some help with volunteers. Pacific Crest Pacific Crest is selling its 45-foot trailer, which is in good condition. It has newer paint, rims, tires, and breaks, and it has passed a recent audit by the California Highway Patrol.
Phantom Regiment Several Phantom Regiment members were honored this past week: Dieter Orkisz, longtime member of the food crew, received the Chevron Award for his service and dedication. Two scholarships also went to outstanding corps members: the Diane Thompson-Wells Scholarship to fourth-year member Lea Conrad, and the Nikki Ely Memorial Scholarship to third-year veteran Midori Eng.
