Memphis Sound

Memphis Sound is accepting applications for the position of corps director as well as the position of operations manager for the 2008 season. Candidates should have excellent leadership and communication skills, some business skills, as well as experience as drum corps directors or in other comparable leadership roles. Other staff positions also are available.



The organization also announced that percussion caption head, Stephen Frittelli and visual caption head, Jason Younts will return in 2008.

Carolina Crown

Carolina Crown will hold the 2007 BandBEAT Marching Band Championship presented by Yamaha on Nov. 3 in downtown Charlotte, N.C. In addition to performances by top high school marching bands, the event will feature a performance by Western Carolina University's "Pride of the Mountains" Marching Band.

Spirit from JSU

Spirit from JSU announced that Scott Boerma has joined the corps as brass arranger for the 2008 season. Before joining Spirit, Boerma served as the music arranger and head brass instructor for the Madison Scouts from 1989-2006. He currently is a director of bands at the University of Michigan.

Troopers

Oct. 25, 2007



Troopers' corps director Fred Morris announced the addition of Gordon Henderson to the corps' 2008 educational staff. Henderson currently serves as associate director of bands and department of music vice chair at UCLA.

Colts

Oct. 26, 2007



Three of four captions will be headed by returning staff members for the Colts in 2008 including; Andrew Tucker (brass), Carla Burgess-Tomsa and Sam Brooks (color guard), Jared Brockmeyer and Mikey Cowan (visual). New to this year's team will be Max Mullinix who will lead the Colts' percussion staff.
