The Bluecoats are pleased to announce that Ron Hardin has been named visual caption head for the 2008 season. Hardin’s drum corps experience spans more than 20 years including instructional stints with the Blue Devils, Santa Clara Vanguard and Blue Stars, among others.

Phantom Regiment is pleased to announce the hiring of Nick Scotella as drill writer for the 2008 season. A member of the corps’ horn line from 1997-2001, Scotella came back to the Phantom Regiment in 2005 and 2007 as a visual staff member.

Capital Sound has appointed Erik Jaeckel as tour director for the 2008 season. He has been affiliated with the corps since its inception in 1995 as a marching member, volunteer and visual staff member.

The Velvet Knights are pleased to announce the addition of John Whatley as the corps’ program coordinator. Amy Matsen will also join the corps as color guard caption head, and joining her will be Juan Gonzalez and Robert Ramirez.

In a restructuring of staff members within the performing ensembles department of Youth Education in the Arts which includes the Cadets drum corps, Megh Healy has accepted a position as coordinator of education and special projects, and Justin “Rudy” Heimbecker will become the director of performing ensembles and the assistant director of the Cadets.

Along with design team members Ken KarlinVince OliverJC Caceres and Roger Carter, the Madison Scouts announced that the following staff members will serve as caption heads: Clay Wachholz (brass), Anthony Erevia (color guard), Andy Bliss (front ensemble), Roger Carter (percussion) and John Scruggs (visual).

The Blue Stars announced the appointment of Michael Shapiro and Kevin Ford, and the return of Brian Kraft and Ron Hardin to lead its visual and color guard programs in 2008. Shapiro will serve as color guard caption head, Ford as drill designer, Kraft as visual caption head and Hardin as a visual advisor.
