Instructor Brent Montgomery has retired as Blue Stars percussion caption head, a position he has held with the corps since 2006. "Brent's contributions to our percussion program and our entire organization have been enormous during the past four years," said Blue Stars Executive Director Brad Furlano. "He took a Division II program and developed it into a World Class Finalist ensemble. "

Holy Name Cadets
Cadets volunteers Tom and Linda Weiss were recognized at the World Championship Finals as 2009 DCI Volunteers of the Year. Also within the organization, Doug Dickel was named by administrative staff as the Cadets' Volunteer of the Year.

Santa Clara Vanguard Cadets
The Vanguard Cadets will debut a new winter percussion group that will compete during the offseason as an Independent Open Class ensemble. A pre-audition workshop is scheduled for early October.
