Colts



With many percussion and color guard members involved in preparations for the Winter Guard International World Championships over the next two weeks, the Colts gathered in Dubuque last weekend for a "brass only" rehearsal. The group continued to work on brass pedagogy and basic techniques in addition to learning the last pieces of music that will be part of the corps' 2009 production, "Fathoms."

Crossmen



The Crossmen recently "inked" a multi-year deal with Wynne Motorcoaches to provide transportation for the corps starting with the '09 summer season. "The Crossmen are going to be traveling in style as Wynne has 15 motor coaches of only the finest and most up-to-date equipment," said Crossmen tour director Joe Banegas. "The four 55 passenger 2008 MCI coaches that will be transporting the Crossmen this summer and into the future are not only equipped with seat belts for safety, but each coach has roaming satellite TV, DVD and premium sound systems."

Glassmen



On March 26, the YWCA of greater Toledo presented a "2009 Milestones: A Tribute to Women" annual award to Glassmen board member Ann Sanford. Presented to women in northwest Ohio who have demonstrated outstanding leadership qualities, Sanford was recognized in the "volunteerism" category.

Madison Scouts



The Madison Scouts revealed details about their 2009 competitive program "Rel?ˇmpago." Featuring music by Bill Holman, Donald Grantham, Vince Oliver, Gabriela Ortiz and Inocente Carre?±o, the Scouts say, "It's good, it's loud, it's fun, it's POW!"

Memphis Sound



Memphis Sound has created a performing exhibition unit called EnCorps Drum & Bugle Corps. Open to members of all ages and serving as a fundraising arm of Memphis Sound, EnCorps is described by the organization as "more of a stage show/mini-corps with a flexible performance repertoire."

Revolution



Revolution members recently completed their fifth rehearsal camp. On pace to field the largest corps in the organization's history, the group has just two remaining camps before hitting the road for the 2009 summer season.
