Blue Knights Glen Crosby will join the Blue Knights in 2012 as percussion caption head. Crosby will be reunited in Denver with arranger Ralph Hardimon who he used to work with at the Santa Clara Vanguard. Most recently Crosby served as percussion caption head and arranger with the Academy.

Blue Stars Michael Shapiro will return to the Blue Stars in 2012 for his fifth season as the corps' color guard caption head, choreographer and designer. "Michael Shapiro has created some of the most thrilling moments ever performed by the Blue Stars, and I'm absolutely thrilled to see where he will take the guard and corps in 2012," Executive Director Brad Furlano said.

The Cadets The Cadets' design staff met last Sunday in Philadelphia to brainstorm ideas for the corps' 2012 production. At the end of the all-day meeting, the six designers in attendance agreed upon a working title of "Pearl Harbor" for the program that will start to take shape over the coming months.

Carolina Crown Carolina Crown's 2012 percussion team will be headed by Thom Hannum, Andrew Markworth, Zach Schlicher and Ian Hale. "Our goal entering into 2012 is to enhance, elevate and maintain the experience of the percussion section in terms of education, performance and design within our musical ensemble," said Executive Director Jim Coates.

Cascades The Cascades are recruiting volunteers to run its corps member recruiting booths at upcoming marching band competitions in the Pacific Northwest. Volunteers are needed for a number of events scheduled between Sept. 24 and Nov. 5.

The Cavaliers The Cavaliers posted a special thank you to its volunteer team members who put in countless hours to help the corps during the summer of 2011. The organization is currently recruiting volunteers to help at off-season audition and rehearsal camps in the fall and winter.

Crossmen Crossmen announced its 2012 color guard staff who will be led by caption head John Leonard. "We are very pleased that the team John and I assembled in 2011 is returning essentially intact for 2012," said Program Coordinator Ed Devlin. "This is another positive step that the corps has taken in preparation for what is destined to be another great season for the resurging Crossmen."

Forte Forte, under the direction of corps director David Smith, announced its 2012 design staff. Dallas Burgess, who will serve as program coordinator, will lead the newly appointed staff.

Glassmen Key Poulan will serve as composer and arranger for the 2012 Glassmen. "Key has done outstanding work in our activity, is a great musician and educator, and I am very excited about the possibilities for the young men and women of the corps," said Executive Director Brian Hickman.

Jersey Surf Jersey Surf will host its 2012 kickoff rehearsal camp Friday, Nov. 18 to Sunday, Nov. 20 in Sicklerville, N.J. Open to any interested students, a $49 registration fee will cover all meals, equipment, instruction and a T-shirt at the camp. "At the end of this very special weekend, those interested in continuing with the process of becoming members will receive an individualized plan for the continued development of their skills," said Executive Director Bob Jacobs.

Legends Legends released a schedule of fall audition dates for its winter percussion and color guard groups. The percussion group will compete for the first time in the Independent Open Class in 2012, and the color guard will compete for the first time at the WGI World Championships.

Madison Scouts Lee Beddis, who most recently served as percussion caption manager at Carolina Crown, will join the Madison Scouts in 2012 to manage the percussion program and serve as battery arranger. He takes the place of Thom Hannum and Nick Angelis who led Madison's percussion section in 2010 and 2011.

"Dale played a pivotal role in developing our core values," Executive Director Stuart Pompel said. Phantom Regiment Fifth-year Phantom Regiment color guard member Kelly Mitchell is the recipient of the corps' Mark Glasscoe Memorial Member of the Year Award. One member is selected annually by the corps director and instructional staff to receive this honor.

Spirit of Atlanta Joel Vincent has stepped down as executive director of Spirit of Atlanta. From a post on the corps' website: "On behalf of the entire Spirit of Atlanta organization, the Board of Directors would like to thank Joel Vincent for his nearly 10 years of dedication and service to the corps. During his tenure, Joel served as an instructor and administrator for Spirit of JSU, Spirit, and Spirit of Atlanta and helped guide the organization through dynamic and challenging times."
