The Blue Stars' 2009 production will be titled "The Factory." The program will "explore the life, sounds, imagery and experiences of 1940s-era factory workers and the people often described as our Greatest Generation."

Citations



Citations staff coordinator Richard Rigolini was recently inducted into the Massachusetts Drum Corps Hall of Fame. Noted in a congratulatory post on the corps' Web site, "Richie is a consummate professional and an exceptionally gifted instructor, as evidenced by his long track record of success. But beyond the numerous medals, trophies and rings, however, the evidence of Richie's dedication to his craft can be seen in the most important of places – his students."

Mandarins



The Mandarins' strength and conditioning coach, Christopher DaPrato, has posted his next installment in a series of conditioning and wellness tips for corps members. This month's edition focuses on the topic, "cardiovascular endurance vs. strength and power."

Mystikal



Mystkial recently appointed corps members Dainel Gomez and Jennifer Ramsey as conductors for the 2009 season. "I do not think we could have not gotten any luckier by finding these two leaders to assist with the new direction of the organization," said corps director Chris Magonigal.

Pacific Crest



Second-year Pacific Crest member Roger Aguilar was recently selected as the corps' Bayha Scholarship winner, a $500 award that assists corps members seeking careers in public service. The scholarship is funded by Spencer Bayha, a former Pacific Crest drum major who currently serves with the California Highway Patrol.

Santa Clara Vanguard



Former Santa Clara Vanguard and Vanguard Cadets corps director J.W. Koester will rejoin the Vanguard team to serve as tour director for the 2009 summer season. "While I have worked with many great organizations in the past few years, I look forward to working with Jeff (Fiedler) and the tour staff to provide new opportunities of excellence to the current and future generations of Santa Clara Vanguard corps members," said Koester.
