The Cascades welcome back Josh Hinkel as the corps' brass arranger. Other brass staff members will include: Ryan Lewis, Jeremy Perman, Zach Smith and Devin White. Pending the outcome of an official review of organizational operations by the Drum Corps International participation review committee, the Cascades look to return to the 2009 DCI Summer Tour after not fielding a corps last season.

The Crossmen announced that four individuals will take creative reign of the corps' 2009 production including corps director Mark Chambers, Wes Cartwright, Aaron Guidry and Darryl Pemberton. The organization also announced three staff members (Carol Chambers, Ray Ulibarri, Tom McGillen) who will make up the group's "orchestration team," tasked with creating the "soundscape" of the 2009 Crossmen production.

Jersey Surf

The Jersey Surf recently announced the appointment of several new staff members. Scott Slutter and Brian Wilkie will lead the corps' brass education program, Chris Perna will join the organization as head of the percussion instructional team, and Louis Hellinger will step up as lead designer of the color guard section.

Madison Scouts

The Madison Scouts announced the following caption heads for the 2009 season: Nick Williams (brass), Charlotte Morrow (color guard), Brad Meyer (front ensemble). Roger Carter (percussion), Neil Adkison (visual). "While we had some difficult farewells this off-season, we are excited about the new chemistry and experiences of the 2009 team," said corps director Dann Petersen.

Mystikal announced that David Roberts will join the organization as its new corps director. Roberts most recently served as the director of Revolution from 2006-2008.

Pacific Crest

Pacific Crest has launched a new video series through the Fan Network called "Center Snare." Percussionists can learn and play along with actual snare parts from the corps' 2008 program in a "virtual drum line environment." All six-episodes of the series will be released leading up to the corps' first workshop/audition session in November.

Pioneer has added Joseph Kuerzi as the corps' program coordinator for the 2009 season. Kuerzi has been involved with several different drum corps over 29 seasons in instructional and managerial capacities.

Santa Clara Vanguard

Santa Clara Vanguard will perform a program titled "Ballet for Martha" during the 2009 DCI Summer Tour. The show will be based on the work of composer Aaron Copland written for dancer and choreographer Martha Graham. Copland expanded the Pulitzer Prize-winning ballet score a decade later, borrowing the title Graham used for her new dance, "Appalachian Spring."

Troopers director Fred Morris announced that Nick Benson will lead the corps' visual caption in 2009 and Jeffrey Cash will lead the color guard program. Joining Benson on the visual staff will be Adam Oswald, Dylan Thompson, Mark LeGault, Grant McWilliams and Kyle Thompson. William Martin will be a part of the color guard staff with Cash.
