Blue Devils
The Blue Devils’ Diablo Wind Symphony will present a concert Sunday, March 18, in Walnut Creek, Calif. The 42-member group made up of local high school and college students will perform a number of works including several featuring guest opera singer soloist Karen Anderson.
Bluecoats
Bluecoats have Yamaha brass, percussion and electronic equipment for sale, available for delivery at the end of August, 2012.
The Cadets
Nomination letters for the Cadets Hall of Fame Class of 2012 will be accepted until Friday, March 30. After a two-week voting process, the new inductees will be announced at the corps’ rehearsal camp at the end of April.
Carolina Crown
Carolina Crown is now selling tickets to the 2012 NightBEAT Tour of Champions Series event. The show will take place on Sunday, July 29, at Memorial Stadium in Charlotte, N.C.
The Cavaliers
The Cavaliers posted a roster of its visual staff members for the 2012 season. The group will be led by returning caption head Steven Estudillo. “The entire [visual] team is ready to continue pursuing and redefining the corps’ standards of excellence,” Estudillo said.
Colts
Tickets are now on sale for the Colts-presented Brass Impact DCI Tour event on Monday, July 16, in Olathe, Kan.
Colt Cadets
The Colt Cadets will rehearse on Sunday, March 18, and Sunday, April 1, in Dubuque, Iowa. With an educational approach to the rehearsals, all interested students—no matter their skill level—are encouraged to attend.
Crossmen
Crossmen announced a new strategic alliance with the Gotta Go Trailways transportation company. In addition to providing the corps’ bus transportation on its 2012 summer tour, the new partnership will be mutually beneficial to both parties with Trailways’ national focus on transporting university, high school and middle school fine arts and athletic programs. “The motor coach component to our summer tour is a very essential partnership. Without a great strategic partner the tour can be a real communications and logistic handful,” Executive Director Fred Morrison said. “It was so great to meet Trailways Fort Worth affiliate owners, Thom Fox and Chris Jarrard. They are young guys with a plan that lines up with the Crossmen mission.”
Forte
Forte’s next rehearsal camp will take place March 23-25 at Calhoun Middle School in Denton, Texas.
Impulse
Impulse is back in action on Sunday, March 18, at Marina High School in Huntington Beach, Calif. Anyone interested in trying out for open positions in the corps’ brass section is encouraged to attend.
Legends
Legends’ March rehearsal camp is quickly approaching March 23-25, in Kalamazoo, Mich. With several positions open in the brass and percussion sections, there is still time and opportunities available to join the corps for the summer of 2012.
Madison Scouts
The Madison Scouts are still looking to fill a select number of positions in its brass section. The corps has upcoming rehearsals scheduled in Indianapolis March 23-25 and April 27-29.
Pacific Crest
Pacific Crest still has several positions open in its brass section. If you’d like to be a part of the 2012 corps, join the corps at its March rehearsal camp coming up on the 24th and 25th in Diamond Bar, Calif.
Racine Scouts
Join the Racine Scouts at an open house rehearsal on Sunday, March 18, at Nativity of the Lord Catholic School in Cudahy, Wis.
Raiders
Raiders, “the competitive drum corps for the serious performer,” will be holding its next rehearsal Friday, March 23 through Sunday, March 25 in Bristol, Pa. If interested in attending, fill out the 2012 application form on the corps’ website.
Revolution
Revolution’s March rehearsal camp will be held March 30 through April 1 at Central Catholic High School in San Antonio.
Santa Clara Vanguard
Santa Clara Vanguard is selling its used Yamaha brass instruments. The majority of the horns were purchased within the last 18 months, with a few older models available from 2009 that are “priced to move. “
Spirit of Atlanta
Spirit of Atlanta is recruiting administrative interns to work with the corps on its 2012 summer tour. Candidates must be 22 years of age by May 1, 2012, and be available from May 23 to Aug. 11.
Teal Sound
Teal Sound is holding a fundraising raffle. The grand prize is a 52″ flat-screen television, with Apple iPads, iPods and American Express gift cards also available for the taking.
Troopers
Troopers are currently recruiting volunteers to assist the corps on its 2012 national tour. Whether you can help for a day, a week or the entire summer season, the corps can use your help. Fill out the volunteer application form on the corps’ website to show your interest.
Velvet Knights
Velvet Knights will hold a parent and volunteer meeting on Sunday, March 18, at Bell Gardens High School in California. “Parents and volunteers are the backbone of our support team,” said Director Mayra Iraheta. “From driving, working a souvenir booth at shows, cooking, sewing, there’s always something to do. Whether it is one day, or two weeks on tour, we need your help.”
