Arizona Academy Members of the Academy design team met in Southern California last weekend to begin drafting plans for the corps' 2011 production. Welcomed to the team was new design consultant Ian Grom.
Blue Knights Jeff Ausdemore will step down as Blue Knights percussion caption head in 2011. Fourth-year staff member Paul Weber will fill the vacant position. "I'm honored to be able to leave the program in such capable hands," said Ausdemore. "I am both grateful and humbled by the opportunities the Blue Knights family has given me through the years, both musically and otherwise."
Blue Stars The Blue Stars are now accepting applications for 2011 membership. The corps' first audition for brass, percussion and color guard will take place in Indianapolis Nov. 19-21.
The Cadets The Cadets Design Team met last Sunday in Philadelphia for a five-hour planning session on the corps' 2011 production. "The plans are sketchy, but there is a foundation for all to begin work," said Hopkins. "We agreed to include a ballad, we want to make sure we stay at 10:30 minutes, and we really intend to play to the crowd, despite the activity-wide competitive results of recent years."
The Cavaliers Late this October, 18 members of the Cavaliers' percussion section will travel to Japan for a nine-day trip to perform as part of the National Cultural Festival in Okayama City.
Crossmen Ed Devlin will return to the Crossmen to serve as visual coordinator and drill designer in 2011. Devlin also currently serves as the director of the Blessed Sacrament Color Guard and as the president of the Winter Guard International board of directors.
Glassmen Glassmen alum Jamison Eige has qualified to compete as part of the Golf Channel Amateur Open National Championships Tournament Sept. 26-29 in Jacksonville, Fla.
Madison Scouts European chocolate company Chocolaterie Stam is opening a new retail location in Middleton, Wis. As part of the grand opening, the store will host the 5K Halloween Hot Chocolate Race on Saturday, Oct. 16. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Scouts.
Mandarins The Mandarins will perform as part of a Veteran's Day concert with the Sacramento Youth Symphony on Nov. 11. at the Memorial Auditorium in downtown Sacramento.

Phantom Regiment Shane Gwaltney will step in as Phantom Regiment percussion arranger and caption head in 2011. "Shane has an excellent reputation with his varied background in both indoor and outdoor percussion, and we look forward to what he will bring to the Phantom Regiment," said Regiment Program Director Dan Farrell.
Pioneer Larry Case will return to Pioneer this coming season to serve as staff and show coordinator. His previous involvement with Pioneer included the corps' "Greensleeves" and "Brigadoon" productions of 1999 and 2000.
Platinum Platinum has finalized its schedule of audition dates as well as winter and spring rehearsal camps. The corps is offering reduced fees for the audition and audition materials. "We want to make marching as cost effective as we can. We have a great support team that is working to ensure that the Drum Corps activity is financially feasible to as many potential members as possible," said director Steve McKeiver.
Santa Clara Vanguard Santa Clara Vanguard will forgo a traditional Thanksgiving weekend audition camp holding its tryouts Dec. 17-19 at Independence High School in San Jose, Calif. Additional dates and information will be released in the near future.
Spartans Spartans will be recruiting members at several events this fall including marching band shows in New Hampshire, Maine and Massachusetts.
Spirit Spirit released a schedule of its audition and rehearsal camp dates for the 2011 season. The first audition will take place Dec. 3-5 in the Atlanta area.
