The Academy



The Academy has got numerous items (possibly including the kitchen sink!) to auction off at its annual Memorial Day Celebration coming up on Monday, May 31. In addition to the auction which includes everything from toys, kitchen appliances, office supplies, gift certificates, and more, the corps will make the debut performance of its 2010 production, "Strangers in Paradise," at the event.

Blue Devils



Former Blue Devils instructor Paul Perniciaro passed away this week after a battle with cancer. Including his time with the Blue Devils' staff from 1991-1996, he also worked with the Cadets, Dutch Boy and Star of Indiana.

The Cadets



The Cadets posted details about their 2010 production, "Toy Souldier," which is described as "a look through a young man's imagination of what it might be like if the regiment of life as a soldier was replaced with the freedom of the individual spirit." The corps will debut the production during its An Evening with the Cadets event which will take place on Sunday, May 30 in Pompton Plains, N.J.

Carolina Crown



Liz Ciardi, a member of the Carolina Crown Board of Directors, has been honored as a Hometown Hero by the local CN2 News station in Rock Hill, S.C. In addition to Crown's board, Ciardi serves on the board of the York County Cancer Association which provides support to cancer patients.

Jersey Surf



You can catch Jersey Surf on the parade route twice before the DCI Tour even kicks off this June. On Saturday, May 29, the corps will march down the streets of Hulmeville, Pa., for the Penndel/Hulmeville Memorial Day Parade, before heading to Wildwood, N.J. on Saturday, June 5 for the Elk's Parade.
