Blue Devils B The Blue Devils B are already gearing up for their Crab Cioppino dinner which will take place on Saturday, March 27, in Antioch, Calif. The event will include food, a silent auction, raffle, music and dancing, all in one fun-filled evening. Tickets must be ordered in advance and may sell out.
The Cadets The Cadets posted a preview audio clip of the opening segment of the their 2010 production. Recorded at the corps' rehearsal camp last weekend, the piece, "Children's Dance from Merry Mount," is composed by Howard Hanson and arranged by the Cadets' Jay Bocook, Colin McNutt, Iain Moyer and Ian Grom.
Carolina Crown Carolina Crown recently posted its latest "Alumnus Profile," this edition featuring Jake Wade (contra bass '96, '98 and drum major '99), who currently serves as a counter-rocket artillery mortar army officer in support of the United States Forces Iraq in Baghdad.
Oregon Crusaders The Oregon Crusaders wrapped up their most recent rehearsal camp performing five minutes of music for a crowd of nearly 60 parents, supports and staff members. The corps reported after the weekend: "The purpose and intensity of the members was evident, as they appear to be on a mission this year—to take the Oregon Crusaders to a new level of performance excellence."
Pacific Crest Pacific Crest launched a new Web feature called "Pipeline," which will give fans an inside look at the corps' designers, instructors and volunteers. The inaugural edition is an interview with program coordinator Dale Leaman about the corps' 2010 production, "Maze."
Raiders The Raiders will celebrate their 20th anniversary with a special banquet on March 20 in North Pompton Plains, N.J. All Raiders members, alumni, family, friends and fans are invited to attend.
Santa Clara Vanguard In memory of its legendary director, Gail Royer, Santa Clara Vanguard launched a new program, the Royer Circle. The organization says, "This honorary society pays homage to others who will follow Gail Royer's lead of generosity and dedication to the mission of Santa Clara Vanguard." Royer Circle members are individuals who create estate plans that include Santa Clara Vanguard Booster Club as the beneficiary of bequests through their wills, revocable trusts, or other planned giving methods.
Teal Sound Teal Sound released a sneak peek at its 2010 production which is slated to include tunes by metal bands Coheed and Cambria and Dream Theater.
