Select members of the Bluecoats will perform as part of the Canton (Ohio) Symphony Orchestra’s holiday brass concert on Saturday, Dec. 8. Playing in conjunction with the orchestra, a high school choral group and other guests, musical selections will include several holiday favorites.
Yamato

Pending the outcome of an official review of organizational operations by the Drum Corps International participation review committee, Yamato looks to return to the competitive drum corps field in 2008 after a year of inactivity. In the meantime the corps has begun to assemble staff members for the 2008 season. Fernando Miller will head the percussion staff as caption head, co-arranger and snare instructor, and former caption head Pete Sapadin will return as principal percussion arranger and serve as a consultant and clinician.

Cascades

John Freeman will resume his roll as visual caption head for the Cascades in 2008. Having been a part of the corps’ staff for the last three years, Freeman also has been involved with the Blue Devils, Dutch Boy and Magic organizations. In another staff related announcement, Cascades show coordinator and brass caption head Lewis Norfleet will step down from his position as he welcomes a new baby into his family.

Citations

The Citations will welcome several new and returning people to the corps’ design team for the 2008 season. Staff members include: Aaron Goldberg (brass arranger), Edward Devlin (visual designer), Matthew Tavares (front ensemble arranger), Charlie Pool (battery percussion arranger), Erika Johnson (color guard designer) and Fred Ford (program consultant).
